Picnics at the Park – America 250 Celebration

As part of Wellston’s America 250 festivities, we are excited to introduce Picnics at the Park—a series of community gatherings celebrating our history, connections, and hometown pride.

We are inviting local non-profits, community groups, and businesses to host a picnic during this special year. Hosting is simple! We are only asking for a date and time commitment—our goal is to make participation easy and accessible for everyone.

Picnics can be casual, creative, educational, fun, or simply a chance for neighbors to come together and enjoy the park. Whether you want to showcase your organization, provide family-friendly activities, or just bring people together over food and conversation, we’d love to have you involved.

If your group is interested in hosting a Picnic at the Park, please contact us to reserve a date and time. Let’s make America 250 a celebration the whole community can enjoy!

Contact Mindy Eisnaugle for more information, meisnaugle@cityofwellston.org or 740-384-2720, ext. 5.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Office Closure

The City of Wellston offices will be closed on Thursday, April 2nd in observance of Good Friday. Garbage will run as normal.

WTP Phase 2 Environmental Assessment

The attached Environmental Assessment (EA) is for the second phase of a new water treatment plant project
in Wellston which the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency intends to finance through its Water Supply
Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) below-market interest rate revolving loan program. The EA describes the
project, its costs, and expected environmental benefits. We would appreciate receiving any comments you
may have on the project. Making available this EA and seeking comments fulfills Ohio EPAʼs
environmental review and public notice requirements for this loan program.

Ohio EPA analyzes environmental effects of proposed projects as part of its program review and approval
process. We have concluded that the proposed project should not result in significant adverse
environmental impacts. More information can be obtained by contacting the person named at the end of the
attached EA.

Any comments on the preliminary determination should be sent to:

Holly Rundle
Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance
Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
50 West Town Street, Suite 700
Columbus, Ohio 43215
Email: holly.rundle@epa.ohio.gov
Phone: 614.728.1742

No action will be taken on this project for 30 calendar days from the date of this notice. In the
absence of substantive comments during this period, the preliminary decision will become final. After that,
the City of Wellston can then proceed with its application for the WSRLA loan.
