Effective March 1, 2026, the City of Wellston Clerk’s Office will no longer accept cash payments for any services or transactions.
Payments may be made using the following methods:
- Debit or Credit Card
- Check or Money Order
- Online Payment Portal

This update is being implemented to improve efficiency, enhance security, and better serve the public. We appreciate your cooperation during this transition.

Important Information
- Bring your current utility bill stub when making a payment.
- Payments made at these locations will be credited to your account once received by the City.
- For additional payment options—such as card, check, money order, or online payments—please visit the City of Wellston website or scan the QR code in our main notice.
Payment Information for New Utility Accounts
At this time, payment for new utility accounts must be made by check or money order. Cash and card payments are not accepted for new accounts. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue within our software system.

Rental Water Service Application
Applications completed before noon will be activated the same day, those
submitted afternoon will be activated the next business day.
Water service activations are completed between 2:30 and 3:30.
A responsible party (18+) must be present for water service activations to be
completed unless liability release form has been signed.
