Memorial Day Closure Notice

Wellston City Offices will be closed Monday, May 31, 2021 in observance of Memorial Day. Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday, June 1st, along with the regular trash route.  Please have the garbage out early as the crews will be running double routes. Thanks for your advanced cooperation.

Ridgewood Closed Wednesday

Ridgewood Cemetery will be closed on Wednesday, May 12 for a chip seal project. This work may possibly extend to Thursday morning.

What is Chip Seal?

Chip sealing is a widely used, cost-efficient alternative to traditional asphalt that treats four times as much roadway for the same cost. Chip seal also:

  • Extends road life by five to seven years.
  • Reduces the need to seal cracks.
  • Provides more skid resistance.

The City of Wellston would like to apologize for any inconvenience and thanks the community for its advanced patience in this matter.
