Wellston Tree Commission

The Wellston Tree Commission is made up of city residents who have an interest in trees, the beautification of our city, and urban forestry environmental issues. Each year, members of the Tree Commission are involved in planting new trees, trimming and maintaining existing trees that are on public property, and identifying trees that are dead or dying and may require removal for safety reasons.

Members of the Tree Commission are actively involved in Arbor Day activities, including educational presentations at the Wellston City Schools and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School.

The pictures on this page are from Arbor Day 2006, and feature Commission President Jane Chevalier (lower left photo) leading students from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in the celebration of planting our city's official 2006 Arbor Day Tree on East Broadway Street across from the post office.

Members of the Wellston Tree Commission are appointed by the Mayor. Our current membership includes President Jane Chevalier, Larry Walburn, Rick Callebs, Roaby Browning, Kathy Walburn, Luke Scott, and Connie Pelletier.

For more information on the Wellston Tree Commission, contact Jane Chevalier at (740) 384-5456.
